Your Role in Our Team
We are looking for three full-time Plumbers (Foreman in Barcaldine & General Plumbers in Alpha & Aramac) based in the Barcaldine Region, QLD, with regional travel as required.
Plumbers will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems across Council facilities and infrastructure, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and Australian Standards.
More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Studying blueprints and floor plans to determine plumbing system layouts
- Installing and assembling pipes, valves, tubes, and water system appliances
- Repairing, maintaining, and troubleshooting heating, ventilation, and sanitary plumbing systems
- Performing drainage, water reticulation, and pipe installation work
- Ensuring compliance with Australian Standards, State regulations, and workplace safety policies
- Promoting and maintaining a safe and tidy work environment
- Monitoring and maintaining personal qualifications, licences, and ongoing professional development
- Providing high-quality customer service to both internal and external stakeholders
- Working collaboratively within a team to complete plumbing projects efficiently
- Identifying opportunities for process improvements and sustainable plumbing practices
- Adhering to Council policies, procedures, and reporting functions

Are You the Right Fit?
To qualify, you will need a Certificate III in Plumbing and a current Queensland Plumbing Licence. A minimum of 2 years’ post-apprenticeship experience in the plumbing industry will also be essential. You will also require the following:
- Current Queensland Class ‘C’ Driver Licence
- General Construction Induction Card (White/Blue Card)
- Commitment to continuous professional development
Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:
- Strong understanding of plumbing systems, materials, and equipment
- Working knowledge of Australian Standards, Codes of Practice, and State regulations
- Experience troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining plumbing infrastructure
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions effectively
- Willingness to travel and work in various locations as needed
